Samui Festival 2017

Samui Festival 2017

The Samui Festival 2017 is scheduled between 7th and 10th September and covers a lot of different activities.
From sporting events like running, cycling or boxing to concerts, parades and arts, food & crafts events, it's all there.

You can enter the official website here; Samui Festival 2017 website. It's a well structured website with kind of interactive tools, like on the running page. It shows the fun run, mini marathon and marathon routes for the running events om 9th September. The start point for the running events is in Nathon and you can sign up online for free!
The only problem is that the complete website is in Thai. For all detailed information you will need to either translate the pages or have a Thai speaker help you out.

Come September 10th there's also a big bicycle event, with a 25km and 50km race. The 50km race will go all around the ring road.
This event wills e a rehearsal this coming Sunday, 30th July, when parts of the ring road will be closed off when the 'test' riders will pass, just like it will be on race day, 10th September.

There are concerts each day with well known Thai artists, with DJ sets going on at the same time and plenty of famous Thai actors will join the fun as well.

In my understanding the cycling and running events as well as the concerts will all take place in Nathon.

Don't be put off that all announcements seem to be in Thai, I'm sure plenty of fun and entertainment will be had. It's supposed to be 'sanuk' after all, for all!

Please do 'like' my Koh Samui blog Facebook page and enjoy the beaches around the island or in front of your hotel or resort and get some well deserved rest and a break. If you're done resting or need something else to do, there's plenty of things on offer on and around Koh Samui, you can go snorkeling or diving or take a dive course. You can also enjoy some of the trips I recommend, like a half day gourmet lunch and snorkeling trip at the Southern part of Koh Samui or a photography trip where you get to see the most photo genetic spots on the island or go for a drinks tasting tour if you like a tipple or two.
